Abstract: To study the composition of species,diameter-class structure and spatial distribution pattern in a dynamic forest community in Baiyun Mountains in accordance with the technical specifications of the BCI( Barro Colorado Island),the author National Forest Park established a permanent plot 1 hm in Baiyun Mountain in 2015,and the woody plants whose diameter at breast height( DBH) are ≥ 1 cm were fully investigated. The results showed that: there are 61 species of woody plants,belonging to38 families and 24 genera,with a total of 4301 strains; Quercus aliena var. acuteserrata,Pinus armandii,Forsythia suspensa and Pinus tabulaeformis in the community are dominant species; rare species and occasional species account for 12. 28% and 47. 37% of the total species respectively; the maximum DBH is 40 cm and the average DBH is 7. 82 cm in the plot; the tested nine species are mainly clustered,and with the increase of scale,the aggregation strength of the species decreases gradually.In short,this study was conducted to understand the species composition of plant communities,diameter-class structure and spatial distribution pattern of main species in the forest dynamic plot of Baiyun Mountain. The results may help to accumulate the basic data and provide technical support for the management and protection of plant communities in the region.
