Abstract: This paper reviewed the research progress of interferon Ⅲ against swine susceptible viruses and summarized the antiviral mechanism of type Ⅲ interferon and its advantages as a safe antiviral drug. The current research status of Type Ⅲ interferon and its role in combating porcine viral diseases were discussed. Especially， the antiviral effect and the related application of type Ⅲ interferon and the immune escape strategy against Ⅲ IFN of susceptible virus in pigs were expounded. Current problems limiting the widespread use of interferon Ⅲ and some suggestion were put forward. The application potential and prospect of interferon Ⅲ as a safe antiviral drug were prospected， with a view to providing theoretical basis and new ideas for the treatment of swine viral diseases.
