Abstract: 【Objective】Quantitative methods were used to determine and evaluate the level of agricultural and rural modernization development in Henan Province. 【Method】The evaluation index system of agricultural and rural modernization level in Henan Province was constructed from nine dimentions: agricultural industry, agricultural production, agricultural management, public service, infrastructure, ecological protection, investment guarantee, farmers’ life and sustainable development, and the weighted function model was used to measure the modernization level of agriculture and rural areas in Henan Province, and then the practical path to improve the modernization level of agriculture and rural areas in Henan Province was constructed.【Result】The results show that the overall level of agricultural and rural modernization in Henan Province is not high, with advantages and disadvantages coexisting.【Conclusion】Based on the overall consideration, optimization suggestions were put forward from five aspects: optimizing agricultural industrial system, perfecting agricultural production system, perfecting agricultural management system, improving rural service guarantee ability and strengthening agricultural ecological construction, so as to speed up the modernization process of agriculture and rural areas in Henan Province.
