Abstract: This review summarizes the upstream regulators of the hub in plant cold signal pathway CBFs(C-repeat binding transcription factors) and their regulation models, emphasizing on the strict regulation mechanism of post-translational modifications. The main problems related to discovery of the key cold-tolerance genes and cold signal regulation in plant as well as the probable solutions were also discussed in the hope of providing references for further dissecting the mechanisms underlying plant adaption to cold stress and genetic improvement of plant cold tolerance.
