Abstract: Six treatments:CK(blank control),T1(800 kg·hm-2 biochar),T2(1 600 kg·hm-2 biochar),and T3(2 400 kg·hm-2 biochar),T4(3 200 kg·hm-2 biochar),T5(4 000 kg·hm-2 biochar),were set up to investigate the effects of different application amounts of biochar on C/N value of cinnamon soil in tobacco growing areas and the physiological index of the root system of fluecured tobacco.The results of two years’ field experiment showed that the application of nitrogen fertilizers reduced by 40% for each treatment compared with the local conventional fertilization,and the application of biochar with 2 400 kg·hm-2 could increase root activity by 30.43%,total root area by 48.48%,and total root tip by 44.25%.Biochar could promote the proportion of upper grade fluecured tobacco ratio by 59.64% when the application of biochar was 2 400 kg·hm-2,compared with the control.Biochar could increase C/N value of the soil,effectively promote the growth and development of the root system of flue-cured tobacco,coordinate the growth of aerial parts and underground parts,and increase the proportion of middle and upper grade flue-cured tobacco.
