Abstract: Agricultural waste rape straw was used as raw material and carbonized for 2 h respectively at different pyrolysis temperatures(300,400,500,600,700 ℃) to prepare biochar by adopting the low-oxygen temperature-increasing carbonization method. The solid product biochar was collected and its characteristics and pore structure was measured. The results showed that with the increase of pyrolysis temperature, the pH values of rape straw biochar increased gradually, and became alkaline when the temperature reached 400 ℃ and would continue to increase to strong alkaline with the further increase of temperature. When the pyrolysis temperature was above 400 ℃,the mineral elements content was relatively enriched, and thealkaline oxygen-containing functional groups on the rape straw biochar surface increased, while the acidic oxygen-containing functional groups decreased. The CEC of rape straw biochar reached its peak values between 400~500 ℃,ranging between 77.39~80.00 cmol·kg-1.The FTIR showed that when the pyrolysis temperature was higher than 300 ℃,the aromaticgroups of rape straw began to form. With the pyrolysis temperature increasing, the specific surface area and pore volumes of rape straw biochar both increased firstly and then declined.Under the condition of 400~500 ℃,the pore structure development and pore volume formation were better, with larger specific surface area and specific pore volume, the biochar output rate was relatively higher with less nutrient loss, and the physical and chemical properties, nutrient utilization and pore structure of biochar all reached their optimal state.
