Abstract: In order to study the pollution status of seven heavy metals( As,Zn,Cr,Pb,Cu Ni and Cd) in soil and flue-cured tobacco in Henan province, the contents of heavy metals in soils and tobacco of four major tobacco-planting areas in Henan province were investigated. The Nemerow index method was used to evaluate the level of soil pollution. The results showed that 91% of the Henan tobacco area belonged to safety level, while only 9% of the sampling sites belonged to clean level.Based on analysis of the enrichment of heavy metals in tobacco studied by bioconcentration factor( BCF) method, the results indicated that tobacco belonged to non-enrichment plants for As,Pb,Cr and Ni, slightly enrichment plants for Zn and Cu, and moderately enrichment plants for Cd.Comparing in the four tobacco areas. It was also found that the BCF of flue-cured tobacco in Xuchang and Pingdingshan was lower, but the BCF of Cd was higher, while the BCF of flue-cured tobacco in Sanmenxia and Luoyang was high. Furthermore, the correlation relation between the contents of metals in flue-cured tobacco and the contents of heavy metals in soils showed that revealed that the content of heavy metals has a positive correlation in the tobacco and soil, which suggested the metal elements in soils were important sources for the flue-cured tobacco.
